Invitation: AAPT Teaching Hub at the CogTeacho Workshop Aug. 5-6

The Cogtweeto philosophy workshop series is a free, fully-virtual workshop initiative developed to promote open and constructive engagement with contemporary philosophical research. The workshop occurs on Zoom, and is also simultaneously streamed to YouTube.

Since their August 5-6, 2023 event–“Cogteacho“–is about teaching, we are delighted to offer an AAPT Teaching Hub as part of the workshop. The AAPT will co-host two sessions:

“Do the Thing: Teaching with Practical Workshops” (C. Thi Nguyen, Cat Saint-Croix, Meg Wallace)
Sunday, August 6th, 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM Pacific Time

“Intergenerational Dialogue on the Meaning of Life” (Hope Sample)
Sunday, August 6th, 4:45 PM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time

We’re grateful to Jonathan McKinney and Ryan Miller for organizing the Teaching Hub.

In addition to the AAPT Hub, the schedule features several other AAPT members:

Ok, But Can We Talk About ChatGPT? (Panelists: Michael Otteson, Cassie Finley)
Saturday, August 5th, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Pacific Time

Book Panel: “The Art of Teaching Philosophy” (Kris Phillips, Corey Reed, John Koolage)
Saturday, August 5th, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Pacific Time

New Take On Old Ideas: Confronting a Pernicious Misreading of Plato’s Cave Allegory (Nathan “Eric” Dickman)
Sunday, August 6th, 10:45 AM – 11:35 AM Pacific Time

Ok, But Can We Talk About The Elephant In The Room (Philosophy Twitter is Dead) (Jen Foster and Cassie Finley)
Sunday, August 6th, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Pacific Time

RSVPs are appreciated. Each workshop event is self-contained–there are no expectations for everyone to attend every session. We hope to see you at the Teaching Hub or throughout the workshop.
