Introducing Our New Publication:

American Association of Philosophy Teachers
Studies in Pedagogy

The American Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT) is pleased to announce the establishment of a new serial publication, published by the Philosophy Documentation Center. American Association of Philosophy Teachers Studies in Pedagogy is a peer-reviewed annual dedicated to publishing thematically focused volumes of original works on teaching and learning in philosophy. The thematic volumes will include a range of contributions, from practical advice to theoretical discussions. Contributions will be welcomed from anyone teaching philosophy, including graduate students, new faculty, and tenured professors.

Calls for submissions for each volume will be issued when editorial plans for the volume are completed.

The publication is a benefit of membership to the AAPT. Membership information is available on PDC’s website: https://www.pdcnet.org/aapt/American-Association-of-Philosophy-Teachers-(AAPT).

The Editors-in-Chief of American Association of Philosophy Teachers Studies in Pedagogy are Rory E. Kraft, Jr. (York College of Pennsylvania) and Kevin Hermberg (Dominican College). Rory has ten years of experience editing Questions: Philosophy for Young People, first as a co-editor-in-chief, and then as primary editor.  Questions is published annually by the Philosophy Documentation Center. Kevin is series co-editor of Issues in Phenomenology and Hermeneutics, published by Bloomsbury Academic, as well as individual thematically-oriented volumes within the series.  Kraft and Hermberg have previously collaborated, along with Emily Esch, in co-editing Philosophy Through Teaching, a project of the American Association of Philosophy Teachers, published in 2014.

The first volume of this new publication, Practices in Pedagogy, edited by Emily Esch and Charles Wright will include 15 essays from scholars with varied backgrounds. A post from one of the volume editors introducing the volume will be published in the near future.

More information about the new publication and subscription is available at https://pdcnet.org/aaptstudies/American-Association-of-Philosophy-Teachers-Studies-in-Pedagogy.
