Fall 2024 Talking/Teaching Discussion Series
Talking/Teaching is a series of one hour, facilitator-led online conversations about a topic pertaining to teaching philosophy. Participation is free, and you need not be an AAPT member to attend. Fall sessions will be held Fridays alternating between noon or 3:00 p.m. (Eastern). To join any Fall 2024, register via Zoom. We will update the schedule as soon as we can confirm presenters/topics.
No preperation is necessary–please join us to talk about teaching!
Kimberly van Orman will launch this fall’s series at 3:00 p.m. Eastern this Friday, September 27th, on the question: “Can you teach philosophy with AI?”
We’re now in year three of ChatGPT, so how’s it going? Are there useful tools or approaches to using Large Language Models that are helpful for teaching students philosophical skills? If you have ideas, bring them. We can talk about prompt “engineering” and what generative AI may help us in our teaching.
