CFP: 2024 APA Eastern & Central Teaching Hubs
The AAPT and APA have facilitated teaching-focused workshops and conversations by hosting Teaching Hubs at APA Divisional Meetings since 2019. Calls for proposals for the 2024 Eastern and Central Division meetings are now available.
Proposals for the 2024 Eastern Teaching Hub are due August 1, 2023. This Hub will feature sessions on:
- The Socratic Method
- Nonideal Pedagogy
- Philosophy in Middle School: New Directions and Initiatives
- The Impact of AI on Teaching
Proposals for the 2024 Central Teaching Hub are due August 15, 2023. This Hub will feature sessions on:
- Feminist Pedagogy
- Activism and the Philosophy Classroom
- Rethinking Excellence in the Philosophy Classroom
- Beyond the Accommodations Letter: Strategies in Inclusive Pedagogy
- Teaching Philosophy at Community Colleges
Each APA Divisional Meeting also features a poster session. For the 2024 meetings, faculty and graduate student posters on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning are due September 1, 2023. Undergraduate research posters are due October 1, 2023.
