Call for Journal Editor for AAPT Studies in Pedagogy
The Editorial Board of the American Association of Philosophy Teachers Studies in Pedagogy (SiP) is currently looking for a Journal Editor. The incoming editor will assist the current editor with production of Volume 12, starting in May 2025, and will take on full editorial responsibilities for Volume 13. The five-year term will officially begin in February, 2026. The Journal Editor has the following duties:
- chairs the SiP Editorial Board, which meets in the first and third quarters of the year;
- works with the SiP Editorial Board to develop multi-year plans for direction of the journal;
- develops the operating policies and procedures in consultation with the SiP Editorial Board;
- ensures that the volumes cohere to the policies and procedures determined by the SiP Editorial Board, which includes being responsible for maintaining consistency between volumes;
- finds volume editors and actively works with and supports the volume editors, and is ready to perform their duties if necessary;
- performs final copy edits in each issue;
- handles journal correspondence; and
- liaisons with our publisher, the Philosophy Documentation Center.
