AAPT awarded APA grant to support early career faculty

The American Philosophical Assocation recently awarded the AAPT a $4,000 seed grant to develop a Mentor Observation Program (MOP) for Small Philosophy Departments. The MOP will provide early-career faculty at small philosophy departments opportunities for pedagogical feedback and mentoring that they might otherwise lack. You can read the full project proposal (.pdf link) or about the other 2023-2024 grant recipients at the APA website.

We are grateful to Jack D. Musselman (St. Edward’s University) and David E. Gray (University at Buffalo) for coordinating this project, and for the Teaching and Learning Committee for helping to administer the program.

Look for more details about the Mentor Observation Program to be announced at the 2024 AAPT Workshop-Conference at Otterbein University, July 24-28. The call for proposals for the workshop- conference deadline has been extended to February 12, and registration information will be forthcoming.
