The changing of the year marks changes to the AAPT’s board of directors:

Renée Smith serves as our new president, and has already been hard at work forming committees for the new biennium. We are grateful for the diligent work of Russell Marcus as he becomes our Past President. Jane Drexler–who many of you may know through her previous work as Conference Programming Chair (among other roles)–begins her Vice Presidential term.

Alida Liberman and Kimberly Van Orman have been re-elected to their positions as At-Large members of the board. They are joined by new board members Jerry Green, Rebeka Ferreira, and Carissa Phillips-Garrett.

Each of the above elected positions on the Board of Directors have a two year term, from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2026. We are grateful to all of the candidates willing to stand for election, and look forward for your continued leadership, whether on the board or beyond.

Karl Aho continues to serve as Communications Director and Yvette Pearson remains our Treasurer. Each of these appointed roles serves a five year term, from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2027.

With these changes, the new AAPT Board of Directors is as follows:

  • Karl Aho, Communications Director
  • Alexandra Bradner, Executive Director
