2020 AAPT Conference Postponed to 2021

It is with great disappointment that we announce that the Board of Directors of the AAPT has decided to postpone the 2020 Biennial Workshop-Conference until the summer of 2021. Please plan to join us next summer at Otterbein University for our always informative and collegial meeting. The foremost concern in making this decision is the health and safety of all involved. Beyond that, however, the uncertainty of available travel funds for participants and the general disruption to the planning of the conference have made it impossible for us to have the kind of conference that we all want and deserve this summer.

Proposals accepted for the 2020 Workshop-Conference have been accepted for our 2021 event. We will be in touch later this year with additional information for those of you who may want to change or amend your existing proposals for the 2021 Workshop.

Although we are saddened that we will not be able to be with you all in person this summer, this time presents a unique opportunity. As you know, conversations about teaching are at the forefront of academic philosophy like never before, and our organization has much to offer these conversations. For this reason, we are in the early stages of planning online programming for this summer to provide our members a chance to share their insights with each other and the discipline more broadly. We will be in touch soon with more information about what this online programming will look like and how you can get involved.

We hope that you are staying safe and healthy and finding ways to connect in this difficult and stressful time. We look forward to being together with you all soon, even at a physical distance.
