Call for Editor-in-Chief

 

The American Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT) has started a new annual journal called American Association of Philosophy Teachers Studies in Pedagogy. The inaugural issue, co-edited by Emily Esch and Charles Wright, will be published by the Philosophy Documentation Center in October of 2015. The second issue, to be edited by Andrew Mills, will be published in the fall of 2016.

We are currently looking for an Editor-in-Chief. This is a five year position.

Duties of the Editor-in-Chief:

  1. chairs the Editorial Board;
  2. develops the operating policies and procedures in consultation with the Editorial Board;
  3. is responsible for ensuring that the volumes cohere to the policies and procedures determined by the Editorial Board, which includes being responsible for maintaining consistency between volumes;
  4. finds volume editors and steps in when volume editors are unable to perform their duties;
  5. develops a three year plan in consultation with the Editorial Board;
  6. handles journal correspondence; and
  7. liaisons with PDC.
