Hello AAPT Colleagues,<br>
<br>
I write to announce two exciting opportunites to participate in
this summer's Hamilton College Summer Program in Philosophy! We
have received generous grants that will allow us to include in
this year's program two experts in philosophy teaching: an
inclusivity consultant and a pedagogy resident. <br>
<blockquote>1. The <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://academics.hamilton.edu/philosophysummerschool/hcspip-2023/inclusivity-consultant"><b>Inclusivity
Consultant</b></a>, supported by an <a

href="https://philosophyteachers.org/aapt-grants-for-innovation-in-teaching/">American
Association of Philosophy Teachers (AAPT)</a> Grant for
Innovation in Teaching, will help prepare faculty and tutors for
the program. Our goal is to promote equity among student voices
and help us to place diverse perspectives at the center of the
curriculum. Working remotely, the consultant will help
instructors both to create productive learning spaces within the
program and to carry skills learned during the workshop to their
home institutions. Candidates should have experience teaching
in diverse and inclusive spaces, familiarity with the
scholarship of teaching and learning around inclusion, and an
interest in working collaboratively with HCSPiP instructors and
tutors in May and June 2023. The consultant will receive a
stipend of $1000. <br>
<br>
2. The <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://academics.hamilton.edu/philosophysummerschool/hcspip-2023/pedagogy-resident">Pedagogy
Resident</a>, supported by the Small Grant Fund of the <a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="https://www.apaonline.org/">American
Philosophy Association (APA)</a>, will help aid faculty and
tutors in designing innovative pedagogy for their classes.
Working on the Hamilton College campus during the program this
year, June 25-July 11, and then through the autumn, the pedagogy
resident will improve our program by helping instructors and
graduate student tutors both to reflect on their work and
communicate it to a wider audience. They will coordinate
pedagogical programming during the program and facilitate
pedagogical outreach via post-program collaborations
toward presentations and publications. Candidates should have
experience in the scholarship of teaching and learning in
philosophy, a strong record of publication on philosophical
pedagogy, and an interest in working collaboratively with HCSPiP
instructors and tutors. The Pedagogy Resident will receive a
stipend of $5,000. <br>
