*Call for Panelists: Making Philosophy Indispensable at Independent
Colleges*

We are looking for panelists to speak on the theme of "Making Philosophy
Indispensable at Independent Colleges" at the AAPT Conference from July
24-28, 2024, at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. In particular,
we are looking for panelists to offer success stories regarding the
following, or related, questions:

   - What have you done to increase enrollment in philosophy courses?
   - What have you done to increase the number of philosophy majors or
   minors?
   - What have you done to secure the future of the philosophy department
   at your institution?
   - What connections have you made to other departments, institutions, or
the local and regional community that have helped demonstrate the value of
philosophy to students, colleagues, administrators, and community members?

Ideally, we will have a panel of four presenters, from a variety of
independent colleges. Each speaker will present for about 10 minutes,
leaving time for conversations and questions in small groups that will take
place during an accompanying reception generously funded by the Council for
Independent Colleges. If you are interested in serving as a panelist,
please send a brief (~200 word) description of what you would speak about
to andrewpmills at gmail.com by May 10, 2024. Please include your
institutional affiliation.
