Dear Colleagues,
As the fall approaches, please consider facilitating a session in the
Talking/Teaching Series. I pasted the CFP below and also attached it as a
flier. Please post widely and let potential facilitators/participants know
that you do not need to be a member of the AAPT to participate.
For your reference, here is the list of previous presenters and topics:
Fall 2021: https://philosophyteachers.org/talking-teaching-schedule/
Spring 2022: https://philosophyteachers.org/talking-teaching-spring-2022/
*CFP:* Facilitate a session in the* AAPT Talking/Teaching Returns Series*
*What is the Talking/Teaching Returns weekly series:* One hour, facilitator
led conversations about a topic in teaching philosophy. No advance
preparation or reservation required.
*What does the facilitator do: *Facilitators give a brief introduction to a
pedagogical concept or topic that is chosen in advance. The facilitator *does
not *give a long presentation or host a Q and A. Rather, the facilitator
spends 5-10 minutes providing a concise summary of their thinking on the
topic they have chosen, and enough context and good questions to start and
sustain a conversation.
*Who can Apply and When: *Anyone with experience teaching philosophy and
facilitating conversations. Proposals accepted on a rolling basis starting
summer 2022 and ending when all spots are filled.
*Proposal Process:* Send an email to sdonovan at wagner.edu, subject heading
